Scott Etkin
Born August 31, 1992, Scott began training in West Side’s Pee Wee program at age 6, and is a serious Taekwondoist and accomplished competitor. Scott is the Captain and a coach of Team West Side’s Children’s Competition Team. Scott is 3-time Junior Olympic champion and medalist; 6-time New York/ New Jersey/ Connecticut State champion/ medalist; and earned Elite Athlete status for the 2006 Junior Olympics. Scott earned his 1st Dan Black Belt in 2002 and 2nd Dan Black Belt in 2006. He shares the distinction, with his mother Sue, of being the only “mother-son” pair to test and receive their 1st and 2nd Dan Black Belts together at West Side. Scott is a graduate of Bank Street School for Children in New York City and currently attends high school at Riverdale Country School in Riverdale, NY.
