West Side Taekwondo

Born in New York City, Ms. Etkin began her Taekwondo training with son Scott in 1998, and earned her 1st Dan Black Belt in 2002, and her 2nd Dan Black Belt in 2006. She has competed in State and National competitions and coaches forms. Sue studies boxing in addition to her passion for Taekwondo. She has the honor of being a Professional Boxing Inspector for the New York State Athletic Commission and brings this experience to the dojang through her teaching. Professionally, Sue is President of SAJ Partners, LLC, a human capital management firm. She graduated with a BSN, magna cum laude from Georgetown University and an MPA from New York University. Sue shares the distinction with her 16 year-old son Scott of being the only “mother-son” at West Side to test and receive their 1st and 2nd Dan Black Belts together.
