Ms. Mercedes Valle
Born in New York City, Ms. Valle began her Taekwondo training at Princeton University under Masters Jiho Choi and Rex Hatfield in 1995. At Princeton, she was the Taekwondo Club president and received her first dan in 1998 and her second dan in 1999. After graduating from college in 1999, Ms. Valle spent three and half years in Korea where she trained at Gold Medal Gym under Grand Master Kim Chung Suk. In 2002, she received both her master’s in Korean Studies from Yonsei University and her third dan. After her return to the states, she received her J.D. from Rutgers School of Law–Newark in 2006. Ms. Valle was an associate at the law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges until she resigned in May 2008 in order to pursue a career in writing.
