Mr. Jim Ziglar

jim-ziglar.jpgMr. Ziglar is a 2nd Dan Black Belt. He was the first person promoted to Black Belt at West Side, testing in June 1993. Born in Washington DC, he has lived all over the country, including Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania and Arizona. He was promoted to 2nd Dan in 1998 when he was in Texas. Mr. Ziglar has been active as a taekwondo instructor and competitor for many years, having competed in the collegiate circuit in college and business school, in State championships in Florida, Texas and Pennsylvania, and even one point-sparring tournament during college. Jim was a leader of the University Pennsylvania WTF Taekwondo team from 1995-1997, and was co-Head Instructor during 1996-1997. While West Side is his taekwondo home and the Masters Hwang are his most significant taekwondo influences, he is also grateful to the many other masters and instructors he has studied under during the years, including Grandmaster Byung Ho Choi, Grandmaster Ho Soo Hwang, Master Dennis Pinaroc, and Master Ramy Latchinian. Gratitude is also due to Mr. Eugene Cho, who introduced him to taekwondo, and was the Head Instructor when he was at Yale. To afford his taekwondo habit, Mr. Ziglar works at Deloitte Corporate Finance, providing financial advice to governments, developers and investors in major infrastructure projects. Mr. Ziglar received his BA in Economics from Yale University in 1992, and his MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 1997. He is happy to be back living in the neighborhood.
