Reminder: our next next promotion test will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2007, starting at 11 am (with a makeup scheduled for Tuesday, December 4, starting at 6:30 pm). In addition, please note the following:

Now is the time to start planning, preparing for and schedulilng your Black Belt Test. This will require communicating with Sabomnims to schedule pre-tests and evaluations well in advance of your final test date. Black Belts Not testing for their next Dan.
Effective Calendar Year 2007, the following rules have been instituted:
1. West Side Taekwondo Black Belts who have not tested in the current calendar year will be required to perform a Maintenance Test during the last test of each calendar year (this year, Saturday, December 1 and makeup on Tuesday, December 4). The test will consist of performing the last 2 Black Belt forms for your Dan ranking (Koryo and Keumkang for 1st Dans, and Palsaek and Taebaek for 2nd Dans), plus a board break of your choosing. There is no charge for the Maintenance Test. This requirement is designed to ensure that our Black Belts maintain their training and continue to grow as Taekwondo-in.
2. Black Belts who earned their Kukkiwon-certified belts from another dojang will be required to take an Equivalency Test within six (6) months of commencement of training at West Side. The cost of the Equivalency Test is $100, and includes your embroidered West Side Taekwondo Black Belt. This requirement has been in effect since our inception, and is designed to ensure that all our Black Belts understand and are able to teach our basic curriculum. You will be asked to perform any of Taegeuk 1-8, Koryo or Keumgang, plus a board-break of your choosing.
